[Xanth clears his throat. He's a little hesitant to speak into the journal, but...]

S-Sorry. A-About the, uh, q--q-quiet.

[He knows how worrying it can be.]

[About twenty minutes after the entry is down, Xanth can be found at the stables communing with the chocobos. They look sort of like riding birds he'd known at home, although he's still not sure what these ones eat. Seeds? Meat? Vegetables? We just don't know.]

[Xanth turns the video feed on, but he doesn't put his face in the camera. Instead, he films one of the chocobos. It's especially large, with black plumage and a sharp beak, but it just stares good-naturedly at Xanth.]

Y-Yeah, the, um. Th--these, w-whatever they a--are. Th-they're... they're p-pretty nice, a--a-actually...

[That is a strange question. "Do they bite," he expected.]

[Again, Xanth turns the camera at the big birds. This time, he's scratching one under the chin.]
